This weekend we attended Henry’s first soccer game. He was so excited- he dressed in his uniform hours before we needed to leave and was first into the van on the way to go. He ran, had many “almost” goals and had a great time. His family cheered, his mother was a part of a parent tunnel (I know…) and we will be doing it again next weekend (and for every weekend until Halloween for that matter).
This guy, this six year old, is turning into one cool kid. No longer the super shy guy that hid behind my leg. He is out there, high fiving his teammates and coaches, fighting for the ball and being a boy. Sometimes we (his parents) get sad to think of the little guy he was, but the kid he is turning into, he is amazing. We can’t wait to watch more soccer games, even if they are in the rain. And we will watch anything else he wants to do play- we will always be there, cheering him on from the sidelines.
